Peter Cole OAM OF founded not for profit Spirit of Sharing in 2000. He was troubled seeing young kids at recess and lunch playing with stick and stone and empty plastic bottles that he decided to do something about it.
Peter’s dream was to give opportunity to children and youth across Fiji whilst they go through there schooling years to play proper sport and at a high level. It first started with a few boxes of balls each year taken over on the plane to sending 40 foot shipping containers full of sporting equipment to service over 450 schools across the 300 plus islands of Fiji.
To date SOS has provided millions of dollars of aid to Fiji, Vanuatu and other neighbouring countries.
In 2010 SOS build a 40 bed dormitory for a school on an outer island called Taveuni and installed numerous water tanks in villages and schools.
Along with sports equipment SOS has build a strong relationship with Rotary Club of Belgrave to help provide and ship medical equipment to Fiji and other countries. The Rotary Club of Belgrave have strongly supported SOS for a number of years now and continue to work together on international projects.
